NESREA , MAN CHART COURSE FOR MANUFACTURING SECTOR REGULATION
The Director General of NESREA, Prof. Innocent Barikor today met with a delegation from the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria, (MAN) at the headquarters of the Agency in Abuja.
The meeting provided an opportunity for NESREA and MAN to engage in constructive dialogue and explore innovative strategies for effective regulation of the sector.
Prof. Barikor revealed that NESREA is developing a robust data collection model to enhance its tracking and regulatory capabilities, and to ensure optimal oversight of sector operations in accordance with the mandate of the Agency.
He urged operators in the sector to adhere to provisions of the National Environmental regulations, pointing out that the essence is to protect the environment and not to punish businesses.
Director General of MAN, Segun Ajayi-Kadir represented by the Director, Research and Advocacy, Dr. Oluwasegun Osidipe expressed appreciation to the NESREA boss for the engagement and the fruitful deliberations.
